WHERE IN THE WORLD..?

The world needs Oasis Cities

A template for ALL future eco-cities
The Oasis City concept could become the template for ALL future cities – hence “The Shape of Cities to Come”.

I am frequently asked – “WHICH country are you proposing OΔsisCities for?”

“EVERYWHERE” because, unlike one-off vanity projects like Abu Dhabi’s vastly expensive “Masdar” publicity stunt, the OA-City template is adaptable to every environment.   That said, the concept is especially appropriate for car-crowded highly-developed countries where concern for the environment is highest.

The multitude of burgeoning environmental, economic and social dilemmas, which OA-Cities can alleviate, are common to all advanced countries.  But every country has its own unique problems and priorities, for example….

BRITAIN (for that matter, all of W.Europe)

  • OVER-POPULATION –
    • of both people and vehicles, especially England now the most densely-populated country in Europe
  • LAND SHORTAGE
    • More of England’s land surface is covered by housing and roads, etc., than any other populous country (if we exclude mini-states)
    • This is largely due to a British cultural attachment for houses rather than apartments/flats, as epitomised in the saying “Every man’s house is his castle”.
  • COUNTRYSIDE PRESERVATION
    • England’s storied and enchanting landscape is being eaten-away by low-density housing development, together with associated roads and “retail parks”
  • MASS IMMIGRATION –
    • of largely un-assimilable and often resentful 3rd world people is leading to the destruction of European peoples, their culture and civilisation

BULGARIA & other Balkan nations

  • MASS YOUTH EMIGRATION to W.Europe –
    • Bulgaria’s pop’n has declined from 9 million to 7 million since 1989
  • INEXPENSIVE LAND and LOW LABOUR COSTS
    • OA-Cities would be much more affordable to build than in W.Europe
  • IMMIGRATION FROM W.EUROPE
    • OA-Cities would encourage immigration that would stimulate the Balkan economies
  • COULD RE-POPULATE SOME GREEK ISLANDS
    • Who hasn’t dreamt of living on an island..?

RUSSIA & UKRAINE

  • HARSH FREEZING WINTERS
    • In OA-Cities, residents will be well-insulated from the harsh winters and most will not need to go outdoors

ISRAEL

  • DEFENSIBILITY –
    • vulnerable to terrorist attacks and will always be threatened by invasion.
  • LAND SHORTAGE –
    • very densely-populated tiny territory, mostly desert
  • HOT SUMMERS –
    • insulation from the summer heat
  • ARIDITY –
    • OaCities will collect and conserve water and consume much less
    • and they will “green” the surrounding land
  • KIBBUTZ –
    • OΔCities share many co-operative features of the Kibbutz, but not the austerity and will have broader appeal

JAPAN & KOREA

  • SEVERE LAND SHORTAGE –
    • very mountainous and densely populated
  • COLD WINTERS, HUMID SUMMERS  –
    • insulated from weather extremes
  • STRONG SOCIAL COHESION –
    • opposition to multiculturalism and “diversity enrichment”

USA

  • CRIME
    • rapidly escalating, esp in cities with large “minority” groups
    • much of it deliberately targeted at white people – e.g., home invasions and the “knockout game”
  • COMING ANARCHY
    • Antifa and BLM anarchy will spread as police forces lose their authority
  • INDIVIDUALIST NATURE
    • will inspire many “themed” OA-Cities, and some quite wacky ones no doubt

AUSTRALIA –

  • ARIDITY – 80% is desert or semi-desert
    • Dr Benjamen Gussen (University of Southern Queensland) proposed that Singapore establish a charter-city in NW Australia. Straits Times (24/01/17)

S.AFRICA

  • HIGH CRIME –
    • relentless and malicious media vilification poses constant danger for the increasingly vulnerable white minority
    • OaCities would facilitate the establishment of “intentional communities”, such as Orania
  • ARIDITY
    • Coastal regions of Northern Cape Province could harvest sea-mists enabling greening of the semi-desert landscape
