DIMocracy

No matter how big the lie; repeat it often enough and the masses will regard it as the truth.” J.F.K

I keep coming back to the untouchable holy-cow of “Democracy” – why it needs total reformation – and how Oasis Cities can be the catalyst and facilitator for that.   The idea that Democracy means what it meant in the original Greek – “people rule” – is an obvious LIE and a mass DELUSION..!  But, as the saying goes, if you repeat something often enough (and nobody contradicts it), it becomes the “truth”.   I have expressed many thoughts on this topic, but they were scattered around the site.   I have now brought these musings together under a dedicated heading with the intention of coalescing them into a single essay, which may or may not happen – but here they are anyway..!

“An idea that is not dangerous in some way is unworthy of being called an idea at all”   Oscar Wilde

Oasis-Cities will be the first TRULY DEMOCRATIC societies in history.  By “truly democratic” I mean that EVERY CITIZEN will be able to vote on EVERY ISSUE..!

OASIS CITIES – THE CATALYST FOR DEMOCRACY REFORM

Because it sounds good and wholesome to the masses, politicians (invariably leftist) often make glib promises to “improve democracy”.   But the only kind of “improvement” that is possible and acceptable to the majority is to allow ever younger people the right to vote – and/or make voting compulsory.  In this way the franchise is extended to those who are even more uninformed – or impressionable – or brain-washed – than the general electorate, if that is possible.

Any radical reform of democracy is almost impossible, because any change has to be approved by a majority.  Since one-man-one-vote empowers mediocrity, it is a foregone conclusion that the mediocre majority will never vote to dilute their power by altering the majoritarian system which endows the mediocre with more power than they probably deserve.  This “tyranny of the majority” is a textbook “catch-22” situation.

THE ONLY WAY TO SIDE-STEP THIS CATCH-22 IS TO BEGIN ANEW – WITH A BLANK SLATE

In “Democracy: The God That Failed” (2001) Hans Herman Hoppe suggested that absolute monarchy is intrinsically superior to democracy

And you think “democracy is great”..?

  • Voting for a “political party” is like joining a religion – you have to agree to the entire script(ure), you cannot pick and choose the parts you like and reject the rest.
  • The idea that your local MP will “represent your interests” in parliament is just downright laughable if “your MP” is the one you VOTED AGAINST, and who disagrees with you on almost every issue..!
  • If you voted for the losing party, you are considered to be the “minority” despite the fact that the losing margin could have been as tiny as 49.99%.  You then have to wait another 5 years before you are allowed to put another tick in a box. Meanwhile the politicians who got elected will go ahead and do whatever they want.
  • Your insignificant vote only really counts for much in “marginal seats” – which effectively means that some people have a much bigger say than others.  And that, in itself, contradicts the OMOV principle and is anti-democratic.
  • The UK’s FPTP (first past the post) means it’s quite possible that the “losing party” (in terms of votes cast) can win..!
  • Of course, if you hate the govt that much you could always emigrate, but other countries have very similar systems.
    • How much better if you could re-locate to “another country” within your own..!
  • The ideal (and original) form of democracy is one where issues are debated openly, and anyone can join in the debate (or not, as one wishes) before casting one’s ballot for or against a particular motion.
    • Not a practical option in a country of c.70 million “diverse” people holding varied and often fluctuating opinions.
    • But it COULD be possible if there were a choice of Free Cities within your home country..!
  • Before every election, party leaders shower the voters with favours, in order to bribe their way into office or to retain office.
  • IMMIGRATION – Democracy enables leftist governments to facilitate massive (but unwanted and un-required) 3rd world immigration by stealth, whilst also pretending that we need them due to an alleged “labour shortage”.  (Fun Fact – 1 in every 4 Pakistani men – of those who are actually working for a living and not on benefits – are taxi-drivers..!).
  • The leftists who encourage and facilitate 3rd world immigration know that most “voters of colour” (even 2nd and 3rd generations) will vote for the party which enables extended family members – and others of their ethnicity – to immigrate, thus increasing their “community” numbers and their power and influence.
  • Greater numbers endow “their community” with more group political power and thus more ability to usher-in ever easier immigration and ever looser “family-reunion” laws – not to mention more generous welfare benefits, particularly child benefits.
    • 4 or 5 year terms grant a leftist government carte-blanche power to stealthily proceed with their ethnic-replacement plans without having to ask the electorate’s approval, on the basis that “the people voted for us and therefore voted for our policies”.  Despite intervening periods of supposedly “rightist” Tory government, PoC numbers (and political power) grow inexorably through higher fertility and so-called “family reunions” and “bride selling” which are laughably open to abuse, often for financial gain.
    • Immigrant groups (mainly Muslim) eventually become numerically powerful enough to form their own Islamic political parties, thus holding the balance of power and able to extract ever more benefits for “our people”.
  • The role of Opposition parties is to OPPOSE and so they routinely “oppose” the ruling party at every trivial opportunity.
  • Democracy = Majoritarianism, which is MOB RULE..!
  • OMOV implies the innate equality of all, as such it is a MARXIST ideal
  • EVERYONE gets one vote – but NEVER MORE than one vote, because EVERYONE IS EQUAL…innit..?
    • An obviously bad idea since it assumes everyone is equal in knowledge, wisdom, ability, morality, etc.  Yet anyone who points out this glaring absurdity is shouted down as a “fascist”. (imbecilic, as under Fascism nobody voted).
    • If I bought one “Tesla” share would I expect to have exactly the same influence on company policy as Elon Musk..?
    • I am not saying that one’s vote should be based on one’s wealth, but there are other ways of measuring an individuals “contribution” to his/her community which could be taken into consideration if we had smaller political units.

A World Without Politicians
Firstquestion what your MP has ever done for you. Many people cannot name their local MP
Many of those who do know despise their local MP.  Others will have voted for them and will be happy that they won election. Regardless of those positions, ask yourself, what can your MP actually do for you?
The quintessential delusion of Representative Democracy (the system of governance in the UK) is that an MP is representing your views in Parliament.   The issue of Brexit illustrated perfectly how an MP representing a constituency which voted to “Leave”, would vote against Parliamentary Bills designed to legalise the UKs exit from the EU. These MPs voted in accordance with their own beliefs, following their own hearts and minds.
