BUILD AN OASIS CITY –

AND THEY WILL PAY TO COME AND SEE IT..! 

If Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia can attract more than 5 million annual visitors, each paying up to €30 each, to look inside an incomplete, and relatively small building which can be “done” in less than an hour, and which anyway looks best from the outside – then the potential for an OA-City with all its facilities and attractions is truly enormous.

It is impossible to imagine from a website, book, or brochure, what Oasis Cities will be like to live in.  It will need at least ONE to be built and go “on-show” to the public.  Oasis City “SHOW CITIES” – specifically built with a large number of hotel rooms – could become highly-successful commercial ventures all over the world.   Once people have seen and experienced an OA-City in the flesh they will immediately come to appreciate how overwhelming are the advantages, and how few and relatively insignificant the disadvantages.  

Even then it may take a decade or more for the idea to gain traction, as the first examples of all “game-changing” innovations (cars, television, air-travel, computers, solar panels, etc) are initially expensive. It is quite possible that Oasis Cities will only slowly excite the public imagination UNTIL a tipping-point is reached..! 

That “tipping point” could be a huge increase in Crime and Urban Terrorism.   Crime will be the catalyst for a deluge of migration out of noisy, chaotic, wasteful, and increasingly dangerous and dystopian OB-Cities.  OA-Cities could then evolve into politically autonomous mini-states as groups of people (or even single wealthy individuals) form associations, create their own City Charters, lease territory from willing host states, and build OA-Cities “in their own image”..!
