[stextbox id=”info”]Not all great ideas are rapidly and enthusiastically adopted. It is quite possible that 3MC’s will initially be regarded as an eco-hippy “fad” and, for several decades, only a few scattered prototypes may exist before the concept becomes widely adopted. Sooner or later a tipping-point will be reached whereby people suddenly wake up to the fact that 3MC’s have a myriad of advantages over ObeCities and that these far outweigh their few (and relatively minor) disadvantages.
The catalyst for “take-off” might be a huge increase in terrorism and violent crime.
Such a PARADIGM SHIFT could be triggered by environmental factors but more likely it will be due to political and social catastrophe. For example, given the rapid increase of the black and moslem populations, an exodus from OBC’s might be triggered be a sudden increase in crime, especially racially motivated attacks, murderous car hijackings, pub bombings, house invasions with rape and torture (now almost commonplace in S.Africa), kidnappings for ransom (as in Colombia/Venezuela) or suicide terrorism. Such atrocities are already part of everyday “life” in South Africa, Venezuela, Iraq, to name but a few. Given the massive numbers of 3rd world “refugees” invading immigrating to the West under the pretence of being “refugees”, it is foolish to think that the same criminal chaos will not happen in Europe.
When this chaos hits, 3MC’s will suddenly look so beckoning that it will launch a frantic building boom such as the world has never seen – one that will last for decades to come. But, even with prospective citizens volunteering their labour and helping with the construction, 3MC’s are complex structures each of which will take 2 years or more to complete even assuming no material shortages which there surely will be. Inevitably there will be a huge back-log, and all the while this is going on conditions in OBC’s will be deteriorating rapidly thus further fuelling the demand for more 3MC’s..! And we all know what happens when demand outstrips supply – the price of entry, or the standard for admission, will go up..!
THE COMING BRAIN DRAIN
Given their bloated labour costs and grossly inefficient unionised public-sector workers, and the increasingly heavy reliance on affirmative-action appointees, ObeCities will be unable to compete with the new SC’s and therefore services and social conditions (eg crime) in OBC’s will rapidly deteriorate. OC tax base will leak-away as those who see the writing on the wall and who qualify as Smart Citizens, join the inevitable stampede for the brain-drain. 100 years from now, if not sooner, a likely future scenario is that SC’s will be refuges and veritable islands of civilisation surrounded by dangerous countryside and the lawless crumbling ruins of ObeCities “ruled” by a criminal underclass with a beleaguered few poor or elderly people unable to escape.
This has already happened in previously civilised cities like Detroit and Johannesburg – and it happened much more quickly and comprehensively than anyone would have expected. If you think the same thing cant or wont happen in peaceful Europe, you will be sadly mistaken..! Smart 3MCities will be places of refuge for smart 3MPeople.
